When Making Green Tea
- Always allow water to run for 30 seconds before filling kettle. This removes water that has been sitting in water pipes.
- If you water is highly treated, use bottled water for best taste.
- If using a teapot, take the chill off of the pot by rinsing in hot water.
- Always bring water to a rolling boil and then immediately pour over tea.
Directions for Making Green Tea
To Make Hot Green Tea:
- Pour boiling water over one tea bag in a teacup.
- Steep for 1-2 minutes depending on strength desired.
- Remove tea bag and serve.
To Make Iced Green Tea By The Quart
- Place 4 green tea bags into a one quart container. Pour 8 fluid ounces of boiling water over the green tea bags and steep for 7 minutes or to desired strength.
- Squeeze and remove green tea bags.
- Add sugar to taste, if desired.
- Add 3 measuring cups of fresh, cold water.
- Serve over ice with a slice of lemon.
To Make Iced Green Tea By The Gallon
- Place 12-15 green tea bags into a one gallon container. Pour 1 quart of boiling water over the green tea bags and steep for 7 minutes or to desired strength.
- Squeeze and remove green tea bags.
- Add sugar to taste, if desired.
- Add 3 quarts of fresh, cold water.
- Serve over ice with a slice of lemon.
