Recipe: Bran Cakes
Bran Cake Ingredients
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup whole wheat stone ground flour
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp raw sugar
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 to 1-1/2 cups warmed milk
- 1 tbsp molasses
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 cup bran
To make Bran Cakes
- Combine flours and sift. Resift with salt, sugar, and baking soda.
- Beat 2 eggs until stiff.
- Blend butter, milk, molasses, and honey. Slowly combine eggs and blend in flour mix.
- Cook Bran Cakes in an iron pan as pancakes.
Serves six.
