Recipe: Cheese Biscuits

Recipes using McCormick Cayenne Pepper

Cheese Biscuit Ingredients

• 3 cups flour
• 4 tsps baking powder
• 1/8 tsp salt
• dash cayenne pepper
• 1 1/2 cups grated Cheddar cheese
• 3 tbsps shortening
• cold milk
• 1 egg

To make Cheese Biscuits

1. Preheat oven to 400° F.
2. Grease cookie sheet
3. Sift dry ingredients together.
4. Add shortening and cheese to flour mixture, cutting in with pastry blender.
6. Add enough milk to moisten the dough.
7. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thick on floured board.
8. Cut with a biscuit cutter and poke with a fork several times.
9. Glaze with beaten egg and place on greased cookie sheet.
10. Bake for 18 minutes.
11. Serve hot.
