Recipe: Coffee Cake
1/4 lb butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
Topping
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 chopped walnuts
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients together. Add flour mixture, alternately with sour cream and vanilla to the creamed butter and sugar.
Prepare Topping by mixing 1/3 cup sugar, cinnamon and walnuts. Pour half of batter into greased 9" x 9" pan. Cover with half of topping. Pour rest of batter and cover with remaining topping. Bake 40 minutes at 350° F. |
