Recipe: Cole Slaw Dressing
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 tsp celery seed
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 medium onion, diced fine
- Heat sugar and vinegar to dissolve the sugar .Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- When sugar mixture is room temperature, add the remaining ingredients and pour into a large jar.
- Shake well in a jar and store in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before using. Shake again before each use.
- Makes 3/4 pint.
To make coleslaw with this dressing:
- To use, add dressing to cole slaw 1/2 hour before serving.
- Use only enough dressing to dampen the cole slaw and letting the dressing draw liquid water from the cole slaw.
