Recipe: Crab Imperial



 

Recipes using Tones Minced Onion

 

  • 1 lb crabmeat
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp instant minced onion
  • 1 1/2 tsps Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 slices white bread (crusts removed)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (1/2 lemon)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • dash pepper
  • 2 tbsps butter
  • paprika (for sprinkling on top)
  1. Remove all cartilages from crabmeat.
  2. In pan melt butter; mix in flour and cook for 1 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Slowly add milk, stirring constantly to keep mixture smooth and free from lumps.
  4. Cook, stirring over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and thickens.
  5. Mix in onion, Worcestershire sauce and bread crumbs; cool.
  6. Fold in mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  7. In another pan heat butter until lightly browned.
  8. Add crabmeat and toss lightly.
  9. Combine with sauce mixture.
  10. Put mixture in individual shells or 1 pt casserole, greased.
  11. Sprinkle paprika on top.
  12. Bake until hot and bubbly, 15 to 20 minutes.
  13. Lightly brown on top.
