Recipe: Deep Dish Pizza
- 3 cups Bisquick mix
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 15oz can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 4 1/2 oz jar sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup chopped green or red pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8oz)
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Lightly grease jelly roll pan (15 1/2 X 10 1/2 X 1) or cookied sheet.
- Mix Bisquick and water until soft dough forms.
- Gently smooth dough into ball on floured surface.
- Knead 20 times.
- With floured hands, pat dough onto bottom and up sides of pan.
- Cook and stir beef, onion, salt and garlic until beef is brown; drain.
- Mix tomato sauce and Italian seasoning; spread evenly over dough.
- Spoon beef mixture evenly over sauce.
- Top with mushrooms, pepper and cheese.
- Bake about 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
