Recipe: Easy Crab Imperial
- 1 lb crabmeat
- 1 green pepper, membrane removed, and diced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp flour
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 tbsp. mayonnaise
- paprika
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Saute green pepper in margarine or butter.
- Dissolve flour in the milk and add to the pepper. Stir over low heat until paste forms. Set aside.
- Place crabmeat in a bowl. Clean by picking through for shells.
- Add Old Bay Seasoning, mustard, 1 tablespoon mayonnaise, green pepper sauce and blend gently.
- Fill crab carapaces with the crabmeat mixture and place on a baking pan.
- In a small bowl, blend the beaten egg and 3 tablespoons mayonnaise. Spoon over the crabmeat. Sprinkle tops with paprika.
- Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes.
