I need to replace my current deep fat fryer with a new one and was wondering if anyone could recommend a top of the line brand.

What kind of fryer do you have now and what kinds of foods are you cooking? What volume do you need (are you cooking lots of food in the fryer)? There's anything from the small Fry Daddy to the larger T-Fals. What fryer to recommend, depends on your needs.

Generally, we like our T-Fal fryer because it cooks the food with a closed lid including a filter to keep the oils from coating the kitchen. And it's cool to the touch on the outside. The Fry Daddy's are ok if you're cooking french fries, or onion rings. But for fried chicken or more than occasional use, we'd recommend the T-Fal.

Thanks for the reply Spice Place. We use our deep fat fryer to fry french fries and onion rings as well as an occasional fried chicken recipe. We will definitely check out the T-Fal one that you mentioned.

Hey DrPepper!
Here's a link to the T-fal fryer we have. The site says it retails for about $80.00 USD but you can get it on sale for less. It's a nice fryer. We like it that it cooks closed and has a filter. Plus a little light that comes on when the temperature is ready.

These are much better then trying to cook in a frying pan. I always worry about all of that hot oil catching fire or spilling. The T-fal is quite stable, and temperature controlled.

Good luck on your fryer quest.

I finally found some time to check out the T-Fal Deep Fryer you suggested. I really like the features on the T-Fal Avante Deluxe Deep Fryer. This deep fryer also is easier to clean than the one I currently own. It has a viewing window which allows one to check if the food is done. My current deep fryer I have to actually lift the lid which affects the temperature of oil each time you open the lid. I did some research and found that I can purchase it for $70 at Target.
