Getting a new oven/stove..

This is the one we picked out:

A couple of the reviews are not great, but the one looks like it was just wired in wrong, and the second is simply not the case in my opinion. We went to the store and looked at it ourselves and it looks to be put together very well.

Our current oven is about 20 years old and the element went, and to get a new one shipped would have come to about $85 so we just decided to get it over with.

I am kinda excited about the convection oven myself, and even more about having a double oven. That is so going to come in handy around the holidays or during parties.

Gas was not an option, so we hope to be happy with this one..

Beautiful looking range, Jafo- and trust me- you're gonna absolutely love that fantastic and easy-to-clean flat-top! Wipes perfectly clean while still warm w/ a damp cloth. And the cleaner they provide only needs used very infrequently.

I am really looking forward to the "Proof" setting on the oven. Normally I just turn the oven on real low, and when the bread is ready to go in, I turn it off, but still have cooked a couple dough balls here and there. It will be nice to have an oven that knows what to do.

Ok, well this aught to get a laugh from some of you..

So the wife is at the store ordering the stove, and calls me to find out what kind of plug the old stove is plugged into. I pull the stove back, oy, it is wired directly to the house. After some tracing, I found that this was a project beyond my small electrical skills and call an electrician and have a new line wired in to the main panel with a regular 4 prong outlet.

The stove comes out of the box, damaged. Big dent on the back corner. Sorry, this is my first oven so on the phone with customer service. They are shipping a new one next week, and I get to use this one in the meantime.

So then guess what? It is wider than the specs said it was.. Out comes the tool belt, and I delve into the custom cabinets and counter top with saws, levels, and snap lines. A couple hours later, the stove fits (After banging in the dent back in with a rubber mallet)..

Read the entire manual to get caught up on how the convection oven works, etc.. Now I am ready to finally cook something in this beautiful double oven! One problem, I never took anything out of the freezer! Honestly, I had NOTHING to cook and the kids had football practice in a little over an hour. Now the normal person would not have cared, but us cooks? Well, this was like getting a new car and not having any gas or a road to drive it on.

So off to the market to see what I can get that I can cook in the oven quickly. You know what I ended up with? One of those stupid frozen pizzas! So for the guy who hates prepared and over processed foods, here I am cooking my first dinner in my new stove, and I am using a frozen pre-cooked dish.

Oh well, it can only get better from here.
