I have a couple - not bad - time saver when you're in a hurry - and I've also made my own - roll the dough and use tiny cutters of choice for various occasions - even cheaper than ordering any.

Not for pies, as I don't bake.
Years back, in a British cooking magazine, however, I saw one I really wanted. It was designed so you could enclose mushrooms in a laticework cage and bake in the oven.
Really impressed me. But I've never seen them for sale anywhere in the States.

Janie, you'd still have to roll out the dough.
The way the lattice cutters work is that you have a base plate with a series of off-set blades (most of the modern ones are plastic rather than metal).
After rolling out the dough to size you press the cutter onto it. Then, when you lift and stretch the dough, it opens up into the lattice pattern.
Alternatively, take the store-bought dough and cut it into strips, 1/2 to 3/4 inches wide. Then create your lattice with those strips.

It's still cheaper to use your own cutters - make your own unique designs - and the store bought crust will make it easier for you.
