with a couple friends from church... we all ordered and then split/shared everything and was it ever fantastic!

We had: pesto/mozzarella bread, caprese, mussels marinara, spaghetti alla carbonara, anchovy pizza and spumoni/macaroons-all-around-for-everybody! What a fat 'n happy guy I am right now!~

Great Friends & Great Food shared communially always leaves one feeling satisfied in every way imagineable!!! Heart, body & soul!!!

And oh yeah Kev could that possibly be, no, is it, aw it couldn't be.......Marilyn Monroe with you in this Avatar???

RE: "Marilyn Monroe with you in this Avatar???"

Well, Cath... My whacko buddy Damian, will be flattered as helll to know you recognized him as Ms. Monroe! He looks like quite the gal from 20 paces... don't tell him I said this but he'd NEVER pass as Marilyn up-close, though... 'cause he refuses to properly pluck his nose-hairs! Plus he's got the hands God gave a Sasquatch! He has to order foo-foo mixed drinks served in bird-baths just to make his paws look dainty! Hee-Hee!

(Damian tells this FAV Barbara Streisand story... It's NYC and Barbara is in town for a concert at Madison Square Garden. Of course all the fabulous drag queens are out everywhere in full-force dressed as their favorite DIVA, Babs. There's this older couple from the Bronx standing in line to get into the sold-out show and the hard-of-hearing husband elbows his wife and exclaims: "That's her! There she is! It's Ms. Streisand!" (Little do they know it REALLY IS the REAL, one-and-only, Barbara Streisand!) As the made-up, glamourously-dressed Ms. Streisand gets closer, the hubby's wife leans closer to get a better look... the wife grabs the lady's sequined shoulder, touches her nose, pulls her chin this way and that... pulls her own glasses out a ways from her eyes and squints... then she turns and elbows her husband back and hollars "You fool... you've been seeing Barbara's all day long and this one isn't even CLOSE!" Bwahhhh-Ha-Ha-Haaaaa!!!!!)

That is a funny story about the old couple, poor Ms. Streisand!!!
Got to give ole' Damian credit for even attempting Marilyn!

I forgot to tell you one time I was in a drug store on my lunch hour and walking in pushing a shopping buggy right in front of me is Doris Day, and she's humming the song "Que Sera-Sera" I could not believe my ears, nor my eyes. She is still as beautiful as ever!!! On another occassion she was in a really nice restaurant sitting right across from me & my friend as we were having lunch, and she was with some young man (maybe her son?) but we did as any good local folks would do and let them eat in peace. Out there it was common to see movie stars and heck Clint Eastwood was the Mayor, so you just assumed the "la-di-da ho-hum" everyday occurance when you spotted one. I saw many more but none as well known as Doris!

Fantastic story, Cathy!

Doris would be fun to see... (I just re-watched 'Pillow Talk' w/ my Mom the other night!)

I've seen some stars from a distance (rarely up CLOSE) at some of my work locations, but never in a public situation say- at the market, or on the street...

I'm like you, not really a star-struck type person at all... some goof-balls make me crazy with their fall-to-their-knees "can you sign my naked bicep?"-attitudes! So funny...

I mentioned this once before but at a resort I worked at where celebs mosied thru now and then, we received a bit of "star-training" during newhire orientation and one of the things stressed to us as staff was never call a star by their perceived name... 'cause in many cases, the name you know them by is nothing more than a stage-name... and in some cases, if you're serving them- especially for the duration of a long stay, or will be working with them at all in some capacity, they just might reveal to you their real name- which they just might prefer that you call them- or they might offer a nickname or pet-name for you to use in your dealings with them...

Anyway... yeah, Cath- Doris woulda been a hoot to see!
