Tuna Burgers

Here's a great recipe for Tuna Burgers.

7 ounce can of tuna
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
2 tbsp minced onion
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp chili sauce
1 tsp lemon juice
4 hamburger buns, toasted
Thin sliced tomato
Torn lettuce leaves

Preheat the broiler. Mix the canned tuna with the bread crumbs, celery, and minced onion. Combine the mayonnaise with the chili sauce, and mix in the lemon juice. Mix the mayonnaise mixture into the tuna, and then form into 4 burger patties. Broil for 4 - 5 minutes until the tuna patties begin to brown, and then turn and broil for another 2 -3 minutes until the other side of the tuna patties are brown. Serve on the toasted buns with lettuce leaves and tomato slices; add tarter sauce if desired.

We serve this with a tossed salad.

I never heard of Tuna Burgers before but your recipe sounds very interesting. I would add to your recipe and put a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on top. Which would make it more like a burger as well as a tuna melt.

These are great. Broil them as I put in the recipe above instead of frying so that they don't get the oil taste that fried foods get. A great way to make a different tuna fish sandwich.
