1/4 c. soy sauce
1 T. brown sugar, packed
8 oz. can whole water chesnuts
10 slices of bacon


In a small bowl, mix soy sauce and brown sugar until sugar is dissolved and mixture is well blended. Stir in water chesnuts and marinate for 15 min, stir occasionally. Line a baking dish sheet with aluminum foil. Cut bacon slices in half crosswise. Wrap each water chesnut with a bacon slice; secure with a toothpick and arrange on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes 30 appetizers.
