found this recipe online and decided to try it

Ingredients:

* 3 cups flour (sifted)
* 3 teaspoons baking powder (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
* 1 teaspoon salt (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 1 (12 ounce) can beer ( I used Shock Top Belgian white Ale )
* 1/2 cup melted butter (1/4 cup will do just fine)

Directions:

1. 1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. 2 Mix dry ingredients and beer.
3. 3 Pour into a greased loaf pan.
4. 4 Pour melted butter over mixture.
5. 5 Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes.

that looks so good -

my friend makes it all the time - this is her recipe -

* 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
* 3 cups self-rising flour
* 3 tablespoons white sugar


1. In a large bowl, mix together the sugar and flour. Add beer and continue to mix, first using a wooden spoon, then your hands. Batter will be sticky. Pour into a 9 x 5 inch greased loaf pan.
2. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees ) for 50 for 60 minutes. The top will be crunchy, and the insides will be soft. Serve topped with butter or cheese spread.

I never even thought of cheese spread. That would be perfect :)
