True, some chefs become high-profile and become celebrities.

But of Hollywood Celebs known for movies or music who have written cookbooks on the side- who is your favorite?

I have several and most enjoy those written by Sophia Loren, Maya Angelou, Mo'Nique and Patty LaBelle.

You?

I have Suzanne Somers' Eat Great Lose Weight, it has a lot of recipe's in the book. I have a CELEB DISH  by, Reba McEntire's Praline Sweet Potato Casserole. I made it. I got it out of a magazine. It was good.
Here It Is
1 can (40oz.) sweet potatoes, drained
1/3 granulated sugar
2 Tbsp. margarine melted, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 large eggs

TOPPINGS:
1/4 c. packed brown sugar, 1/4 c. pecans chopped, 3Tbs all-purpose flour, 2Tbsp. margarine melted.
Preheat oven 350. Grease shallow pan 1 1/2 quart casserole. In bowl, mash sweet potatoes, stir in sugar, margarine, vanilla, cinnamon, salt and eggs. Spoon into prepared casserole. Mix topping, sprinkle on potato mixture. Bake 30 min. serves 6. Cookie :)

Speaking of celebrity cookbooks- I just saw a clip on Fox News about Teeny-Boy/Heart-Throb Justin Timberlake's restaurant in NYC which is called "JT's SH" (SH is for "Southern Hospitality")

Among the foods they showed like Baby Back Ribs and Double-Crust Fried Chicken was an appetizer platter that looked kind of fun. It was piled high w/ BBQ Riblets, Chilled Pickled Shrimp, Deep-Fried Dill Pickle Spears, Devilled Eggs, Chicken Drummies, Panko'ed Fried Pork Ribs (I know weird!) and big ol' wedges of Smoked BBQ Bologna cut from a thick sliced round. Pretty cool! The goofy girls tasting it all swore it was yummy- every bite!

I never knew Justin Timberlake had a restaurant, I'm not surprised. He's got a lot of style that's for sure. ;) Cookie :)

Cookbook's & Magazine's

My Favorite is a cookbook by: Dom Deluise and he is such a hoot!
I love his antics, but the guy can cook like nobodies business!!!

I always liked Dom Deluise to. I bet his cookbook would be really good. I bet he's got a lot of pasta dishes in his book & Homemade past sauce and appetizers to. I dare not buy another cookbook.

I just got the September issue of Rachael Ray magazine. She gives good ideas. In this magazine it's 30- minute meals & it's the (MEGA fall Issue.) Cookie :)

Hi Cookie,

You're right about Dom and the pasta dishes. I just loved reading his stories, he is very energetic and very ITALIAN!

My little family here all love Rachael Ray, she does some wonderful dishes. I am often tempted to buy her magazines, but I try and refrain. I just placed an order for Southern Living subscription and I know it will be chock full of lots of good stuff I love to read about! And recipes.

Today I took my granddaughter in to have her hair cut & styled and the beautician did such a great job, I think your line of work is neat cause you help people feel good:) That is a nice way to make a living!

It is fun being a Hair Stylist. Clients that appreciate us, like you make it even better! Cookie :)

Next on the platter of Hollywood Hotplates comes a heaping serving of Cuban festivities. Movie fans and TV Addicts everywhere will enjoy collecting all five hotplates for a fun library of party cuisine.

Whether viewing it for the first time in the 1950s or for the umpteenth time in reruns, everyone has a favorite I Love Lucy episode featuring food. Filled with classic black-and-white stills of the zany redhead and trivia from ten of the funniest episodes (Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate factory, Lucy stomping grapes, Lucy making pizza, Lucy changing her mind at dinner, Lucy ordering escargots in France, her inebriated Vitameatavegemin commercial, and so on), The I Love Lucy Cookbook provides perfect menus for parties with a Cuban twist. Ricky's Arroz con Pollo, Capacabana Coconut Cookies, Tropical Fruit Salad, Fred's Favorite Plantain Fritters, Dizzy Mango Daiquiris, and Carrot-Topped Shrimp Salad are sure to transform any evening into a wild success.

I wondering if the new movie Julie&Julia is based on truth story? And if yes, so it is possible to buy the cookbook.

Yes escada- both women are for real...

Julie Powell wrote a blog and a book about her adventure of cooking chef Julia Child's recipes for a whole year. The second link below is Powell's book.

Julia Child was a famous American cooking TV personality who changed America's views and habits about food and cooking. She has made countless TV shows and wrote over a dozen cookbooks- the first of which "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" can be accessed by clicking the third link, below.

Then, finally- the movie made about Powell's adventure of cooking Child's recipes can be accessed clicking the first link below.

ENJOY! :)
