Thanks KY and Mama.
These are going to help me alot.

It was so funny an older friend of ours killed his computer a weeks ago and when he picked it up we were talking about chicken and dumplings. He said his 88 year old mother loves it but will only use the the really fatty hens to make it. He said she sent him back twice one time til he got a hen that suited her. Her health got so bad the dr forbid her from having the dish anymore but I could just see her refusing the first chicken he got lol.
By the way KY..this guy is in his late 60's and couldnt install a program before we met him. After some help he is very good on the computer and is maintaining his own website and recently did a memory upgrade on his laptop all by himself. Jon and I were very proud of our pupil :D

My Mom used to make those wonderful chicken and dumplings too. I have never been able to duplicate them. The closest I could find to her fresh chicken is free-range chicken found at your health food stores. It is not quite the same as her's but a real close match:)

I'd crawl across a half-mile broken glass... or through a dirty 2-acre cat-box, for a delicious plate of chicken & dumplin's! One of my all-time FAV comfort foods- in fact, maybe my NUMBER ONE fav!
