For you unedified Yankees that's the local pronunciation for New Orleans. Nawlins lies 8 ft below sea level and by all measurements it is sinking more each year. Sea level, BTW, is rising more each year due to global warming. If you spit on the sidewalk on Canal Street that will have to be pumped out by one of 7 pumps that run 24/7. Basically it is politicians fighting with God and I have already placed my bets.

learn to speak, read and write English - leave your "ethnic" customs to teaching your children in your own homes and do not force them on us.

The whole of Louisiana is governed by Nawlins. Our entire flood control system, every levee and every gate even in north Louisiana is designed to protect Nawlins. Yes they did open the Atchafalaya floodway to flood Morgan City (above sea level) to eleviate the pressure on New Orleans (below sea level). MY opinion is build a coupla bars up river around Lutcher where it is above sea level so people can party then flood that sucker.
