Any Summer Vacation Plans

With the cost of gas does anyone have plans for a summer vacation. I am going to be going to Sacramento for a few days. Nothing fancy just for my children to bowl in a tournament. We will try to do some siteseeing of the capital and what not.

We aren't planning anything. With a toddler, I can't imagine any trip would be too pleasurable at this point.

Oh but those are the most memorable...LOL. I remember going to the Rose Bowl Parade that they have here in California with 2 toddlers. It was so hectic and that was only a 2 hour drive. It does get better but then you have to listen to are we there yet?

Medako, I hear you. I went to Disney Land with my hubby and teenage sons during Christmas break. And I saw these parents with kids in strollers, or parents holding babies. I cannot tell you the number of meltdowns I saw these kids have. Throwing tantrums, crying, whining. And I thought, is anyone having fun here? The kids that little just get tired out. That's why I waited until my kids were four and five to go the first time, and let me tell, you they still had their moments. Now, I get teenage attitude, so I don't know which one is worse. LOL...We are planning a trip to see Graceland, Memphis and go to Dollywood. We have done all this, but my mother isn't doing well health-wise and it's where she wants to go...:)

We have been wanting to plan something but I am not sure if it will happen. We were thinking either upstate NY or the Bay Area. Anyplace where it is not 90+ degrees everyday!

We had thought about going to Arkansas for a wedding and spending a few days with hubby's extended family, but I don't think we're going to even do that now. It's so hot the middle of July and half of the family doesn't have a/c. It's pretty uncomfortable. Plus, all of the twist and turn-y roads make me carsick.

At the end of this month we're going to go to OKC for a wedding and probably stay 2 nights with hubby's aunt. That'll be about all the excitment for us this summer.

My wife and I (along with our dogs) love to go to the ocean. Somehow our dogs know when we're getting ready even before we pack and start howling. How they know is amazing -- maybe they know some english!

Well, I find myself currently unemployed and loving it! We are going to go camping again with my 3 year old, we went memorial weekend and had a blast and that was my hubby's first ever camping experience. We live in Michigan and we are going to interlochen state camping ground and it is fabulous. Michigan is awesome in the summer and winter. It is also great for the children as well.

We have a few family weekend trips coming up, nothing major. We're probably saving our big vacation for early next year. Too much going on and $$ is tight at the moment.

Now I am thinking we will do my upstate NY idea over Labor Day weekend. There's plenty of time to get good deals if we plan now. I just got a book on NY so I need to research it. I have been to NYC a bunch but not so much outside the city.
