I put a lasagna in the oven this morning and when I went back to check on it of course my oven was dead. All 4 burners still work but my oven is dead. This oven is only about 2 1/2 years old. I had noticed earlier today the handy man was up here working in another apartment so I went around and asked him to check the stove. Sure enough her was here to check my neighbors stove which is identical to this one and had done the exact same thing. Of course I have a 16 pound turkey + a 9x13 pan of lasagna in the oven I need to bake today. I called the landlord to build a fire under him about the repair man and he was stammering around telling me it may be a couple of days and I told him the situation I am in. He said they told him unless something comes up they should be here some time today to fix the stove. Hopefully they make it and it is not a part they have to order.

IF I do not get the oven fixed today no one will come til Mon. I guess I could cut the turkey up and bake it in pieces in one of the two small stove top ovens but I'm not sure how that would turn out. My only other option would be to take it and the lasagna to either Jon's Dad or his Mom's and bake it. Jon's Dad's stove is a piece of junk which should have been replaced 15 years ago. His Mom's place kills me because I am allergic to their cat. Not to mention the thought of staying there for hours while it cooks makes me want to cry.

All I want for Christmas is a repairman lol.

Burners work fine .. stove will not be fixed til Mon when the part comes in. Took the lasagna to my Father in Laws yesterday and baked it off. Worked out well because he came in hungry while we were there and I gave him a huge piece for supper and another piece for later. Broke my turkey down and baked it in my Flavor Wave thing. It worked out just fine. I used the counter top toaster convection oven thing to bake my dressing. Got a sweet tater pie baked in the same oven and it came out fine.

So I have my turkey, gravy, dressing, cranberry sauce & deviled eggs done. I have 10 fat cheesy olive balls assembled and ready to bake off tomorrow. Tomorrow it leaves mashed taters, oyster fritters, biscuits and olive balls to finish. I cannot do my planned pumpkin roll or yeast rolls but its all good :)

It's nice to have that NuWave to depend on - and I am glad it all worked out for you - although the strees is not worth it!

Jon and his Dad both said they could very lightly taste the Asian flavors on the skin of the turkey but that it did not flavor the meat at all. It was a very moist bird though.

hmmm - I thought the flavor would have been more intense! thank you for letting me know - I want to try it on a turky breast but I want the flavor to be stronger - time to put on the thinking cap - if it still works!
