I have always had a gas stove and love it. I have also cooked on a electric stove before when I was on vacation with the hubby it's OK. I think I don't burn as much on an electric stove as a gas stove. Maybe it's because I'm on vacation and don't have to rush. Cookie :)

Hi Cookie,

I loved the fact that you mentioned being able to cook at your leisurely pace when on vacation!!! I feel the same way as you and it is such a great feeling!!!

By the way I love your Avatar, do you own a parakeet? I had a blue one named "Gabby" because that bird loved to talk, we got along just beautifully and I was most def. his Mommy. I loved that little thing so much and he made a terrific companion he stayed on my shoulder all the time. I miss having a parakeet but their cages are messy and keep one busy vaccuming the floor beneath the cage:eek:

Cheers, Cathy

I keep telling him in all the years I used one I never blew anything up....heck...we use gas for heating so whats the difference !

I cooked on gas for 17 years when I lived with my Mom. I have cooked on electric for the past 10 here with Jon. I like electric much better.

Janie, could you explain why? I'd really like to understand why anyone would prefer a machine that takes control away from you rather than putting it in your hands.

I just don't get it.

I would really like to know how these ideas get started. But once somebody absorbs the idea that thus and so is accident prone there's no changing their minds. Facts do not sway them in the light of higher truths.

It's like all the people who are convinced that pressure cookers are dangerous; prone to exploding and other ills.

Last time one of them did so was in what? 1952? It just doesn't happen with modern versions. And there are all sorts of facts and figures available to prove it. But that doesn't change anyone's minds.

"I'm considering just going out and buying one anyway.."

I would sooner criticize a women's children then get in the middle of an inter-spousal disagreement. So, on this topic, depondent stands mute. And you can quote me on that.
