Broook,

You really would be more comfy when away from home, 4, 6, or 10 weeks at a time with a gas range than an electric?

If so- perhaps I was relying on old wives tales or aged info when I made my decision to buy my condo in '98 and opting for the electric range. I was just under the perception that leaving home for extended periods with an appliance that could be unplugged, and be OFF until someone opted to turn it ON, was safer. In fact- I got a slightly cheaper homeowner's insurane rate because of that aspect.

Hi Cookie,

I loved the fact that you mentioned being able to cook at your leisurely pace when on vacation!!! I feel the same way as you and it is such a great feeling!!!

By the way I love your Avatar, do you own a parakeet? I had a blue one named "Gabby" because that bird loved to talk, we got along just beautifully and I was most def. his Mommy. I loved that little thing so much and he made a terrific companion he stayed on my shoulder all the time. I miss having a parakeet but their cages are messy and keep one busy vaccuming the floor beneath the cage:eek:

Cheers, Cathy

I did have a parakeet her name was sky and yes she was blue really cute.We had her 10 yrs. :( She was a good companion too. She didn't talk but would come out of her cage and sit on your shoulder. In her later days she even had breakfast in bed and would take naps with us. She looked just like the Avatar. Her spirt lives on. Cookie :)

How neat! They are sure near and dear to our hearts when they become that tame! Gabby was a baby when I got him, and I trained him myself.

That's  your bird talked. I heard the males talk more and that the male birds teach the girl birds how to talk. Cookie :)

I guess they do. Do you know how to tell a male from a female? I'll give you a hint...pink & blue.
