Happy 4th of July to all!

My plans are pretty tame.

Will proll'y have ice-cream or root-beer floats, and BLT's or breaded deep-fried pork tenderloin sandwiches w/ Mom at the Miller Park duck pond...

...will drive out in the country to take my Dad to my sister's in the evening for steaks on the grill and watching the kids in the pool- they'll probably splash us like hell! :) Sis will make her famous 7-layer salad and cheesy shredded potato casserole- I'll take a cheese-ball/crackers and pound cake w/ fresh blackberries and whipt cream.

Then it'll be back to town here to watch the view from the 5th floor parking-deck at my work-place where fireworks displays all over town and in outlying farm-towns can be seen for miles...

Enjoy the day all- wherever you are! :)

You to Kevin, happy July 4th. Smoking 2 briskets and a pork butt. Kids wanted briskets, pulled pork for us. Trying to stay cool is the plan. 103 deg. here today. CF:)

Mama, just checked out your photos, that is a nice meal. Sure looks good from here. Ice cream? think i am about to have some myself. You are among friends. CF:)

Happy Independence everyone. Wife and I are going to a friends for steak on a grill. Wife is doing a salad and two pies. I'm doing nothing at all. :)

Mama - Don't ever stop liking all the holidays that were favourites of yours when you were growing up. Remember all the things, memories you cherish,
and dust them off every year to enjoy once again. That's exactly what those no longer here would want us all to do - remember and rejoice that they were here before to enjoy those holidays with us and leave us with lots of wonderful things to recall!! You're in all our thoughts today and every day!

I have a slight problem with Independence Day.....split loyalty I suppose! One year I did the "inappropriate and unthinkable" and flew my Union Jack off my back porch rail and caught plenty of static from friends and neighbors who saw it. But hey, we lost didn't we - and we've always been pretty sore losers!!

Happy 4th everyone!! :D
