Jons Dad took Jon and I to see the old place where he grew up. The lady who bought the farm from Jons Dad when Frank was 12 still owns the place and she asked him to build her a new well box.
I had a wonderful time getting to see the house where Jons Dad was born and lived til he was 12. Jons grandpa and great grandpa built the house. I thought you guys might like to see the pics I took. It was last fall.

This is the house. Its in bad shape now. The woman who owns it had been renting it and the people really wrecked it. They were even tearing down the barn and burning it in the fireplace. You can see Jon and his Dad off to the side.

This is the outside of the root cellar where Jons Grandma used to keep all her goodies.
You can see the stones on the side that it goes back into the hill.

Inside the cellar. You see the people she rented to just threw trash in there.

In my mind I can see all of Jons Granny's pickled goods lining the shelves in old crocks and mason jars.

I had such a good time. He showed us the closet where his Mom used to hide their Christmas presents lol.

Jon enjoyed getting to see the place too. Its a shame its such a wreck now. His Papa much have been a good carpenter because the hardwood floors were still solid as a rock.

Jons Dad cleaned out the fireplace for them. Im not sure what all those bubbles are that kept showing up in my pics?

Nah the camera was dry. I think its where he was sweeping that fireplace and had dust particles in the air.

How Interesting Janie, I Really Enjoyed Stepping Back In Time For A Moment There!

Thank You For Sharing, Cathy

P.S. Jon's Dad Looks So Sweet, I Love Elderly Folks So I Am Biased:)

It was fun to see where they used to play as kids. He showed me where the corn crib was and where they kept their two old mules lol. That old place has a good aura about it. Did you look at the video of Baron chasing Pooh? Its so funny.
