Do you mess up your clothes when you cook? I splash everything all over my shirts even when I try to be careful. I try and remember to put on an apron but dont always bother and sure enough I will ruin another tshirt. When ever I get new tshirts I try to remember to change into an old shirt when Im going to be cooking or washing dishes. If I dont it is ruined.

Funny story last week. My car was screwing up again and I had to ask my neighbor to move his big truck that was parked beside my car so that I could get my father in law to jump start the car. Well the first time I bugged him he was very nice and went ahead and jumped the car from his truck. A few days later the car did it again and I asked him to move his truck so that I could jump the car from my step father in laws truck I had borrowed. Well the guy answered his door he looked like death warmed over and said he was in the middle of something and threw me his keys and told me to move his truck. I hardly know the guy at all and was nervous as heck about moving his giant truck. I climbed into his truck and very carefully moved it and returned his keys. I apologized for bothering him and promised to back the car in from now on so that if it had to be worked on any more it wouldnt require anyone moving their vehicle. Well I felt so bad for bothering him and he looked sick so the next day I roasted him a nice fat chicken and made some rolls to take to him. I be darned if I didnt knock when the poor guy was in the middle of a nap and when he answered the door he looked like death warmed over. I said I wanted to make him something nice to make up for bothering him and then ended up bothering him again  After I gave him the food I havent bugged him again lol.

You made the last "peace offering" so the balls in his court. I would just back in each time now so the battery could be reached. He's probably not a bad guy since he either jumped started your car or trusted you with his truck each time. Maybe he works nights or something.

I agree with JP, plus it is flu season and maybe he has the bug!

But it is sad your car is screwing up again, I sure feel for you & Jon, cars can be a pain in the buttocks!:( Not to mention exspensive as all got out!!!

I havent run into the neighbor anymore. I see he is in and out some because his truck is gone occasionally. He works construction and I think he is laid off during the winter months. During warm weather he is never home much.

My old car stays messed up with something lol. The connections on the battery are getting gunk on them more often which cause the thing not to start. It is going to have to have a new battery soon. I will be taking it a couple of counties over this weekend to do my once a month run to Big Lots, Krogers and Walmart to get my groceries and my brothers. Hopefully it will behave itself lol.

My sis and her hubby get their tax return today or tomorrow. She wants me to go to Outback with them Saturday for her birthday dinner. I havent seen my two nieces since Halloween. I would love to see all of them again. Unfortunately they are giving some really bad weather for tonight, Friday and Saturday. Her hubby works for the electric company clearing trees and he is on call for Saturday in case they need him so its not looking good for going out.
Jon never wants to go along. I was teasing my six year old niece that uncle Jon was coming and she thinks because he goes to his Dads every Halloween when we go trick or treating that Papaw Frank is uncle Jon's babysitter lol. She told me uncle Jon had to go to his sitter Papaw Franks house while we were gone lol. She has never figured out yet that her uncle Jon cannot see. I have wondered what she will say when she ever figures it out.

I'm like you, janie- I have to use aprons- or wear my oldest t-shirts at home, otherwise I get pretty messy too! :) Working forever in commercial kitchens I got used to the tightness and "security" of an apron tied around my waist. On those rare days when an apron wasn't to be had- I felt uncomfortably nekkid in the kitchen!

A few drops of oil on your battery terminals will keep the post and wiring free of most of that build up. Should keep it from losing the connection. It won't restore a battery that's past it's prime though.

>>battery terminal corrosion

as you can guess - the battery has acid in it. fumes (and hopefully not liquid) attack the metal - and you get the gunk on the cable end, on the typically lead terminal post you'll often see a whitish buildup.

a good mechanical cleaning (wire brush - especially on the posts - auto stores sell specialty brushes for the job) is needed to first get it clean. then I use a bowl of water with 2-3 Tbls baking soda to dip the cable ends - foams like crazy as the soda&acid react & neutralize each other - followed by a good fresh water rinse. auto stores also have felt washers you can put under the cable connection with (I don't know what...) in them that will keep the corrosion at bay for quite some time.

in my years playing Mr. Fixit under the hood I've found once corrosion sets in, you need to take a more aggressive approach or it just keeps coming back every month or two.

hope that helps.

Thanks guys. Im gonna to get my fil to check the connections about once a month and hopefully catch it before a problem occurs next time.

Janie you are the best, a big heart that's what you got, and nothing is better than a home cooked meal as a peace offering who can refuse that?

Thank you Hon. I really appreciate that.

I still havent run into him anymore. I figured I wouldnt bug him anymore. Jon said with the way my luck was running I probably poisoned him with the chicken lol. My old car is behaving for now. It had water running out from under it from the melting snow and I told my husband even though I know its only water it still gets me for a minute to see any kind of fluid running from under it lol.

I just got finished smoking my brother some salmon. He wants smoked salmon wraps and potato pancakes tomorrow. His wife wants salmon pattys. They both seem to be in quiet the mood for salmon at the moment. I have to wait til I hit up the store in the morning to get a few things before I can finish up their orders lol.

I think you are the bestest sis anyone can have, I wish you were my sis, i would wrap my arms around you and hold on to you forever.
