Hey everyone, it has been a while since I have been around so I thought I would make a thread here so nobody elses thread gets hijacked. :)

I have been real busy this year and since summer is rather short here, I have spent as little time online as a programmer can. We have done a massive amount of work around the house here including a lot of cutting, chopping, digging, planting, burning, building, pruning, etc..

Actually, I have a couple videos now I think of it:

Here is one of some of the projects around the house including our gravity fed irrigation of the garden. (oh, about month and half old)

I DID manage to paint the garage as I alluded to in the video, I attached some images of the before and after..

Here are the two dogs
(we just rescued the little guy).

After 2 1/2 months winding down, I finally quit smoking, well, that is to say I have not had a cigarette in 2 weeks and 3 days. Getting better every day. :)

Umm, what else have we been up to?....... Went to the county fair with the kids, and a water park, basically your run of the mill summer stuff.

I hope to get more time now to stop in here as many of the outdoor projects are winding down!

Oh and while I was weening myself from nicotine, I had to find something to do with my hands, so I started building some outdoor furniture as we had very little. Attached is a pic of a bench and table I made along with an Adirondack chair.. I actually made two benches and chairs. The only finished piece I took a pic of is the table.

Awesome videos Jafo!!! Wonderful projects, I LOVE your garden, did the fence work to keep the deer out? What a neat irrigation system! I also love Kip & Rex your videos are great, thanks for sharing!!

Also congrats on the "quitting", this July was the 2 year mark for me, I no longer miss the "nic" and am breathing better, and I thank God it is gone from my life for good!!! And now look at all that cool lawn furniture you've got:)

Thanks, and yes, so far no deer have gotten inside. They have managed to snip here and there as far as they can stretch their neck across, but for the most part, all good.

Yeah, Rex is slowly being re-named "Whimpy" but he responds to both. I named him Rex after an uncle of mine who passed away and I missed hearing the name (I mean, there are not a lot of Rex's in the world), but whimpy seems to stick better because, well, all he does is whimper like a chew toy when you pet him.

Congrats on the 2 year mark. Tell me, when did you finally go an entire day without thinking about it?

I honestly can not remember, quitting took a long time, I stepped down from cigarettes to Black & Mild cigars, the cigars lasted about a year!!!:o Then once I really quit giving up the cigars was a piece of cake compared to giving up cigarettes. I honestly believe the cigars do not have all the additives that "hook" us like the cigarettes do! I can say it was at least a good year before I never even gave smoking a second thought again. I know now I shall never smoke again. It was a desire to quit for years, but actually doing it was HARD! I LOVE NOT WASTING THAT $$$:)
