OK. I give up.

I know it's been a bit quiet here - could be because of the July 4th holiday - too bad the spammer sdon't go on vacation - FOR A THOUSAND YEARS!
 
I wish the spammers would go to. I don't care where. I have sent several some nasty PM's. I am sure it did not bother them, but made me feel better.
I bet your right about the 4th. I didn't think about that. CF:)
 
seeral sites I visit are quiet today - will most likely be like that all weekend - unless it storms - then everyone will be back on line again
 
Hi guys. Been busy for a few days. Checked out the farmers market in three locations this morning and no one showed at any of them. I was really hoping but maybe next week.
Scorcher here today of 93 with high humidity.
 
We all just get lazy now and then. Glad you perked us up for a change CF. See just start a thread. We'll wake up soon enough.
 
I've been busy. Last week we catered for a business with 89 employees. And this past weekend the town gave me permission to set up my smoker and sell BBQ to the public.
 
Actually Mama, the vending wasn't as good as I had hoped. We had a lot of food left over. But we did make a profit after all our expenses. There was one other vendor and I know I made more sales than him. I think the heat killed a lot of appetites and the economy isn't helping things either. Thankfully we have a food saver vacuum sealer. So aside from the beans we were able to save every thing.

The catering job went perfectly. People came back for 2nd's and 3rds. Plus the company gave us a big tip on top of the bill. :D They want to use us again and that is the best I had hoped for.
 
It's none of my business - but you froze some extras - what if you were to take those and re-heat them for a kids carnival or a small group in the area - maybe a small vets gathering or something. I don't know how much is left - but maybe for a small group you may be able to drum up a bit more business - or a community paper can pick up what you did and advertise it for you. That may bring more business as well. Just a thought.
 
Rick, sure like you might be on your way. I would like to do something like that here. We just don't have that many people. (Small town) And no money.
We do have a good "Q" place, they have been in business from the 70's.
We do have a large Hispanic population. Maybe I can do Mexican hot dogs. naw.
On reheating your bar-b-que, how do you do it? I vac pack mine and then simmer in water to reheat. Taste just like fresh. Well almost its still good. CF:)
 
Not a single show at the farmers markets so far. I think any goodies people have they are keeping for themselves. It is a hot one out there today. 92 and it is not even noon yet.

That's how I re-heat mine too and it tastes as good as just off the pit. At least I got to keep the burnt ends those are my favorite :D
