We've all decided to meet at a local restaurant together. ("Local" being the operative term here, since we some of us live 100's or 1000's of miles from one another!)

We were just seated a bit ago and given menus. The server informed us of tonight's specials- and she took our drink and appetizer order.

Now we're all chatting, makin' funnies, re-hashing old memories and comparing notes on what we've been up to.

Looking at the menu- what sounds good? What are you planning to order?

Me? I'm gettin' a diet pepsi and I ordered a basket of fried chicken livers- that you're all welcomed to try and pick at, if ya like....

Now for my entree... It's a toss-up between a pasta, a steak or maybe some salmon. And the rice sounds good too- but I haven't had a baked potato in ages either... One thing's for sure- I want the carrot cake for dessert (or cheesecake?), so I gotta make sure to save room. Unless I order the carrot cake to-go and just take it home...

What are YOU getting? :)

I'll have squid with just a simple tartare sauce and brown bread and butter.

Then I'll have Pollo con queso with limed rice, refried beans and spiced new potatoes and a green salad.

Then I have Death by Chocolate.

Irish Coffee and mints.

I'll have half a bottle of Sol, I probably won't drink more than a mouthful but it's nice to have the flavour.

Since the chef here is into Asian fusion, I'll go with the Shrimp and Scallop cakes with Red Thai Chili Oil, roasted red peppers, black beans and cilantro.

Or, perhaps the chicken and leak steamed dumplings with hoisin wasabi sauce.

The food here is excellent, but the service is slow. You ordered at 6:38am and still haven't gotten your appetizer?
