...and in the dining furniture/entertainment furnishings section I saw the quote: "Staying-in is the new going out!" and I loved the idea this represented!

Sometimes it's nice to get out, but for the most part I've always been a homebody/nester and frequently opt for hosting small functions at my place- rather than going out to rowdier venues. Even if it's not an all-out dinner-party... even for just snacks or simple grab n' go finger-foods or basic store-bought munchies w/ a movie or tv show.

In addition to doing the common Oscar parties, and Super-Bowl tail-gates, I used to go to a friend's home one night each week w/ a group of buds to watch "24" and "The Sopranos" and munch on whatever we all brought along. Then another time I hosted a group of 3-8 at my place each week to watch a couple of cable series ("QAF" and "Noah's Arc") w/ the same potluck/munchies plan.

What about you all? Stay in? Go out? Which do u prefer? Is there anything you prefer NOT to do at home- that you prefer going out for?

I usually prefer to stay in. I feel like I get more for my money. I also really like to have people over for dinner or a party. I’m pretty adventurous with my cooking so there isn’t much I wouldn’t do myself but if we are going out we normally go for sushi. I love sushi and I do make it at home but it’s not really easy for me to buy enough sushi grade fish to have all my favorite selections.
