I met a fairy today that said she would grant me one wish.

"I want to live forever," I said.

"Sorry" said the fairy, "I'm not allowed to grant wishes like that!"

"Fine," I said, "Then I want to die after Congress gets their heads out of their asses!"

"You crafty baztard," said the fairy. :D :eek: :rolleyes:
 
That was funny. I just wanted to live long enough to p*** off Social Security, which I have managed to do. Of course now they have lost all my money I've been putting in there all my life.
 
well they've screwed around long enough with mine - and Obama goes and gives it to the CEO's so they can have zillions in their pockets -

Obama, says cost of living has not gone since 2008. Yeah right. CF:)
 
I will be amazed of Obama gets re-elected. The cost of living has done nothing but go up since 2008. We are getting hammered for gas prices at the pump, groceries, utilities and any thing else they can think of.
 
I bet that idiot does get re-elected. Where is he getting all his money from? Americans don't have it - what communists and/or terrorists are suporting him? He never disclosed his endless supply of money in the last election. And it took him years to produce a fake birth certificate. No - I do not believe it is real.

I really can't understand how Obama got elected in the first place. I haven't found anybody that voted for him.:D
 
Kentucky pretty much always goes Republican I think. I have always been a democrat but honestly I have not seen anyone on either side I think would make a good president. I hope they do not give Obama the nomination again but I bet they will. He has been nothing but a disappointment.

Sarah Palin is the biggest joke. I love how she tried to explain who Paul Revere was. Not to mention her screw up about North and South Korea. Some one who does not know basic American history has no business being president.
Michele Bachmamn's screw up about John Wayne and Gacy was hilarious. When will these women learn if your are going to be speaking on television to millions of people then check your facts for crying out loud. At this point I am open to a candidate from either side.
 
The problem for me is I have both conservative and liberals ideals.

I am for individual responsibility, self-sustanance, small government, less gov't. control, lower taxes, a strong military, and individual rights. I'm for legal immigration, keeping jobs in America, and safe utilization of America's natural resources. Sounds conservative, right?

But then I believe just as strongly or more strongly in gay equality rights, separation of church and state, and a woman's right to choose her own reproductive options. And while to some these are liberal ideals- to me they're actually conservative. Afterall, to me they're clearly constitutuionally directed. But most conservatives disagree.

I roll my eyes at both conservatives AND liberals. And I don't fit in well in either camp.

And the worst part is it's almost impossible to find a candidate or any politician who thinks the same as I do on matters. So I almost always feel like I'm casting my vote for a devil when I vote- a devil who doesn't share my concerns or care about things important to me.

I absolutely HATE divisiveness, perpetual bickering, failure to meet on common ground and denial of liberty to some. I believe America needs to respect, protect and encourage ALL families- not just the archaic traditional families that used to be way back in the Ozzie & Harriet days of the 1950's. And I believe government needs to stay out of churches and out of bedrooms and out of our pocketbooks!

I wish politicians and Americans in general were truly as about personal freedoms and individual choice as we all SAY we are. But that's not really the case at all.

Kevin, I think you and I belong to the same camp. For I to feel much the same way. Its like I don't care what y'all do, how you think, what religion you are, gay or not, or how you vote, or what ever. Just don't tell me how I should think. People can do there thing and I will do mine. I get so sick of hearing some do gooder telling me what I should eat or what I should think.

By the way where did everybody go? no new post for days except for the spammers. CF:)

Seems the heat of summer often make folks scatter, CF. It's like this at another foodie joint I hang out at too. Folks are scarse. I know I too am here far less this time of year. Doesn't mean I don't think of everyone though- and hope everyone's surviving this awful heat and getting their fill of scrumptious sweet corn and red ripe 'maters! :)

there is no longer any enjoyment in this site - just spammers and I am so sick of it - and I can't do a thing about it except close the threads they hit hard and delete their crap - it is so discouraging
 
Mama, I have to agree. somehow I have a real hard time understanding what there point is. Do they make money doing this? Maybe they are just being an A**. I know if was my kid along about now he would have no A**. CF
 
Mama I figured you were pretty disgusted when you stopped posting much. I wish there was something I could do to help. We have lost many regulars because of spam and it does not seem that the newbies stay long.
