We went to Walmart last night with my hubby's stepdad. He had to return a printer and wanted some company. We were in the checkout line and Jon's stepdad was ahead of us with a few things his wife sent him after and I found an adorable kitten calendar for 2011. In front of us was an elderly lady behind a guy in his 20's. Well some how the two strangers had gotten on the topic of Obama and it was getting way ugly. I didnt know a blue hair elderly woman even knew those kind of words! The poor little checkout girl looked like she wanted to run. I mean these two sounded like they were about to come to blows. It just goes to show politics and religion cannot be discussed in forums and now the grocery store. :rolleyes: I felt most sorry for the little checkout girl. She looked about 19 and was by the looks of her about 8 months pregnant lol.
 
you can never speak to anyone about politics and religion! and the way things are in this country - our political system is the worst! Obama? he is NO president - he is a disgrace -
(okay - time to get the boxing gloves on - LOL)
 
I was pretty sure the elderly woman was gonna kick that young guys tush. She was ticked off lol. You know we have some friends you cannot mention anything like that to because they get just as upset. Your political and religious views are yours and have no effect on me or our friendship has always been my point of view lol.
 
it's always been touchy - talking about politics and religion - but it seems that since the "new administration" has come in - it's even worse and many of the older people are really ticked off and they don't care who they ram horns with - oldsters are toughies!
 
It is funny that I posted this with what happened here today. We came back home around noon and there were 14+ messages on our machine from a number we had seen a couple of times on the caller ID but they never left a message. Well she left messages today and how! It was a woman who later told Jon she was 84. She thought she was dialing the gas company and did not appreciate getting a machine. With each call she used more and more profanity and became more angry that she wasnt getting an answer. In one message she actually growled in between cursing.

When we came home Jon tried to call her number back to tell her she was dialing a wrong number but he didnt get an answer. Five minutes later she calls again. I told Jon it was her when I saw the number on the ID box and when he said hello she rips into him saying she wants some *%%***##!! gas and she wants it now! I could tell Jon was torn between laughing and being ticked off.
He told her she had the wrong number and that he didnt appreciate the vulgar messages she had left and that she was old enough to know better than to carry on that way. He told her if she ever called again he would report her to the phone company. He was telling his Dad about it and his Dad knew exactly who the woman was. His Dad said the woman was in her 80's and had always been a mean old foul mouth witch.
 
Jon said he would call them on her if she called anymore. She has never called again. I pity the gas company when she finally got them. What a mouth she had on her!
 
The good thing about that - working for a company - you do not have to put up with that - you can hang up and no one will write you up or fire you for it. Up here - if anyone even raises their voice at a utility customer, etc. - they will hang up and not take another call from you - they don't have to. You cannot abuse anyone like that.
 
When ever the number showed up Jon kept saying the name was familiar to him. When he asked his Dad about it he reminded Jon of who it was. They live right down the road from his Dad. It is the Gran to some kids Jon had even gone to school with. They say her hubby is just as mean as she is.
 
I think some folks are just so unhappy and ungrateful with there lives. They want to share with all they come in contact with. I know people like that, I just stay away from them. CF:)
