Supposed to frost tonight

It is going to be down to around 37 tonight with a chance for frost.
It has been jacket weather the past two days with cold in the air. I went down to the garden today and harvested most of the rest of my herbs and dug up one of my rosemary bushes to try and keep going inside this winter. It made the car and now the kitchen smell wonderful :D
Through the day I can still sit it out on the balcony to get sun but at night it is to cold to leave outside in case it frosts.
We had a high of 52 here today and windy. It has been cold the past two days. Now when you step outside you can smell wood burning in the air.
At this rate when my sis and I take her kids trick or treating they are gonna need long johns on under their costumes.

Nawww - not long johns - SNOWMOBILE SUITS - you know - those heavy duty ones that will keep you warm in temps to -99 below zero!

It is down right COLD! It was about 34 this morning - didn't get as warm as you did today. Thank heaven tomorrow I am having my new furnace put in. Blankets are on the beds already.

I had to drive into the city this morning - brrrrrrr - and I had the heater on full blast in the car all the way - dreaded getting out and having to walk from the ramp to where I had to go. then I dreaded walking back to the car!

I don't think that we will have any "transitional" wardrobe this year - just head straight to the winter gear!

Those with wood burning stoves have them lit already. I think it is going to be a bad one this year.....................

we've been getting 40's at night with high 60's during the day. I like it like this but pretty soon it will be too cold again and my hands will start to ache

Our old bones can't take the cold anymore! Long gone are the days of running around in the winter months with no hat or scarf and your coat unbuttoned. Now its 2 pairs of gloves, 2 scarves, a hood, the longest and heaviest coat you can find, plus a hat and about 14 layers of clothing!

Sorta like when your mom would dress you to go out and play with the dozen snow suits - LOL!!! By the time she got done you looked like the sputnik and you couldn't walk. No - I changed my mind - you looked like you had on one of those fat suits that make you look bigger than a sumo wrestler...............

Did you grow up with me

How cute love the guy above me. It was 60 degrees and the sun was out today in Chicago. It's already getting darker earlier. Cookie :)

I just turned 40 and my bones dont care for the change in weather either. My hands get stiff and clumsy. Poor Jon has lots of metal in him and has a very hard time this time of the year. I have a couple of quilts I need to get to the laundry mat and run through their big washer and dryer. Thankfully our ac and heat are included with the rent here.
We will be putting out the garlic for next year in the coming week. Jon's Dad asked me to do it because his knees are giving him a hard time. Mine wont be happy with it but I would much prefer I do it than him. He does so much already.
My old dog is gonna be 11 in Nov. He really appreciates laying under my electric blanket these days lol.

It was so funny at the grocery store this little boy about 5 years old runs up and gives me a big hug around the legs and his Mama was stunned lol. She goes he has never done that before and I laughed. I had on my very favorite blue jean jacket that has Pooh embroidered on the back. I told her it was probably the jacket ....he thought I was one of his people lol. She said he does really love Pooh. Little guy made my evening.
