You all know my Mom's story- she's suffered from severe mental illness for over 30 years- and she's been seeing a doctor for the last 3-1/2 yrs. and has enjoyed an amount of great positive impact from meds...

Well, as the anniversary of 09/11 came today, I learned that Mom has zero awareness of the tragedy of 09/11. No recollection or awareness of planes or explosions or fire or terrorists. No memory of collapsing towers or falling bodies, or dusty streets...

In talking w/ my sister about it- we're not sure if this results from poor awareness/memory- so much as deep mental isolation/seclusion caused by her illness...

Pretty amazing...

I bet there are a lot that wish they could forget that horrible day!
