today was a day for banning most of the "newbies"
I don't think rat poison would be effective enough - they are coming out like the roaches they are

Mama - I'm not familiar with the inner guts of this software - but some Fori I've visited require a moderator approve/release the first x posts of a new member.
I've seen numbers like 10 posts - bit on the extreme side methinks but something like 2 or 3 could stop (some / most) spam from ever hitting the board, no?
don't know what would happen in the case of the loudmouth spammer who posts 20 messages "in a heartbeat" ala'
"gosh sounds good and here's my website/spamsite . . "
type of thing.

This software can be set up that way - but this is the way the administrators have it right now.
Personally I would love to see that the first post needs to be approved before it is posted to the site.
Make 'em type a couple words for the first few posts - verify if they are spammers or not.
but for now - this finger got a work out today - the button is HOT - phew......
