Just thougt id say hi. Brand new to this type forum, but have been on many firearm and law enforcement forums for years. Highly trained in the culinary arts but have never worked in that field. Have been cooking since I was eight, as mentioned well trained, but have spent last 20 yrs as a Police Officer currntly a supervising Patrol Sergeant. Husband and father of four, two girls and two boys.:)

Welcome sammy- we're glad you found us!

This is a fantastic group of folks- from all backgrounds, all regions and all walks of life.

I myself was a professional chef for many years. Spent the final years of my career working for Princess Cruiselines in Alaska- then cooking at and managing work-camps for the oil, commercial-fishing and mining industries in remote regions of AK. Now I'm "retired" and working a second career in a much quieter kinder/gentler field and am enjoying being back home in the mid-west near family after so many years away.

We've got many fantastic members here- I lov'em ALL! And we're a very close, intimate group w/ very much a cozy "family" feel. I think you'll like it- we look forward to having you as a friend & neighbor! smiles- kevin

Hi Sammy. Welcome to our forum.
You will find lots of friendly people here. Many willing to share what they know and even more eager to learn anything you have to offer.

Hello Sammy!

Welcome to SpicePlace, hope you will like it here with us "Foodies"! We love having new members and hope that you'll like it as much as we do.

What are some of your favorite cuisines? Myself I LOVE MEXICAN, MOROCCAN, & GREEK, well come to think of it I'm a "Cusine Mutt":D there are NOT many I dislike (except maybe Indian; sorry Mr. Patel)

If there are any questions you have jump right in and make your questions known, we will try & help. Do not hesitate to join in on any discussion we may have THE MORE THE MERRIER!

Cheers, CCCathy

P.S. We'll try not to hold it against you cuz' you're a cop;) And we have lots of good doughnut recipes here:)

LMAO! Thanks cathy! Ive been here for only a few and its obvious yall are VERY different than what im used to. I now actually look forward to checking in on a forum and cant wait see what up.

So glad you will enjoy being active.

Now first off what are your favorites?
Some folks like at least some things a little above the rest. I know alot of fellows "specialize" in almost all of the outdoor grilling and such. Are you into that and would you like to learn how to make anything special? Maybe surprise your family all to heck & back with a "Sammy Throwdown"? Or are you more into inside cooking, baking, or some special dish? We have alot of fine cooks here many of which are men, and they add some terrific recipes and ideas. My whole reason for joining (besides loving great food) was to try and keep our meals from being the same old boring stuff! I have learned so much, actually as a result of joining here I became a lover of Moroccan cusine! To me it is totally over the top and explodes with flavors I adore (olives, lemons, and neat spices). I receive alot of inspiration, not to mention I have made a whole tassle full of neat new on-line friends!

Oh yeah and well about those doughnuts= For me I would have to say it is a handsdown no contest love I prefer Krispy Kreme Glazed straight off the conveyor belt!!! We used to live not too far from one, and actually on occassion had to over-night my baby sis and her hubby a dozen as they can't get 'em up where they live!
