Hi everyone. : )

I'm slowly teaching myself to cook. I've always been able to make myself a few very basic things. I can make scrambled egss (in the microwave) and sunny-side up eggs on the stove. I can throw together a great grilled cheese sandwich! I can boil water so I can make you any type of pasta you want, luckily, I love them plain. I can simmer soup or spaghetti O's. So my cooking skills are limited. Or I feel they are. I'm slowly learning what flavors intuitively go together, portion sizes that work best in our house, all the things that work and that don't. Who knew cooking was so easy, yet so involved!

Welcome to the forum!

Cooking is like riding a bike, once you learn it, you don't forget. I can remember not being able to cook hash brown potatoes, and now when I think about it, I don't understand. I tried boiled them first, then tried par boiling, but now adays I can just peel, chop, toss the potatoes in a frying pan, and they're done. I really don't understand how I couldn't make them from the beginning, but I'm a breakfast cooking pro now.

Hope you the best, and thanks for joining us here!
