I try to eat in as much as possible; I love to cook and it sure is hard on your budget eating out all the time. Plus, the more you cook the better you get at it. It's hard with my commute to cook every night but I try to be creative and do quick things, do some pre-prep and shopping, use the crock pot, and of course rely on hubby to grill!

However, we do enjoy a nice relaxing meal out so we do that once a week or so.

Often when DH and I go out we thinkg we could have made this for a lot less! We are only happy when we go to a very nice place.

I prefer home-cooking myself... I just wish someone could come cook for me some days. Especially now that I'm pregnant, it seems like a lot of foods make me sick to my stomach just from their smells.

We don't eat out that often, maybe once a month. We do order pizza about once a month too... So if you count both of those, we 'go out' to eat every 2 weeks. Which is about how often hubby gets paid.

I'm about the same as phoenyxstarr. We generally get a pizza every 2 weeks. Other than that, we rarely eat out. Paying for 6 at a restaurant can get QUITE expensive.

But the answer the question - I PREFER to eat out! I really do hate to cook. But... it's my job....

Plus by making it yourself you know exactly what you are eating!

That's a very good point. You know you haven't sneezed in the food and have clean hands and all that.....

DH and I love to eat out at least once sometimes twice a weec (sorry I'm missing that last letter--don't now why but you will see his cousin "C" filling in for him until I get a new laptop, ceyboard, etc.) Houston just has too many great restaurants not to try them out-----and of course Mexican food here is awesome and inexpensive. I love to cooc in if I have the time but sometimes I wished that I had a live-in maid to do the clean-up--Ha!---DH will help but many times he's swamped with worc or he comes home very late. Often, I will mace a big pot of beans or lentils or stir fry or spaghetti and we'll eat that a couple of times a weec-----luccily neither one of us hates leftovers. But we do enjoy eating out as well and this is why. When we first married we were very poor college students. DH shot a deer that first Christmas and we ate that huge bucc for the rest of the year (steacs, sausage, ground meat, etc., until after a year the thought of venison made my intestines recoil in horror. And 30 years later it's the same story.

We also found chiccen pot pies (4 for a dollar) bac then and again I am revolted at ever eating one of those in my lifetime--Ha!!! So, yeah, we do enjoy going out ever so often and Houston is definitely the place to spin the Wheel of Cuisine, picc a vowel and go for it.
