    Default Farmer's markets

Anyone shop at farmer's markets? I think it would be fabulous to buy fresh fruits and veggies directly from the farmers, but I don't know where there is a farmer's market near me. I need to look into this more closely - surely there is one somewhere!

I love to shop at the farmer's markets! We have several here and I am not far from our local farms and we can go there for anything we need. And I still enjoy picking my own, strawberries, berries, cherries, apples, plums, peaches, tomatoes, etc. Did the "dig up the potatoes" once - won't do that again - too dirty!!

When I was a kid we used to go to a large farmer's market every couple of weeks. I remember one time someone had sugar cane and we bought a whole stalk (or whatever it is called). We cut pieces off and snacked on them. That was kind of fun - the only time I have eaten sugar cane.

When I was a kid we had gotten sugar cane as well - can't find it anymore though.

I know a guy who works at a farmer's market, but it's pretty far away from me so I've never gone there before. In fact, I've never shopped at ANY farmer's market. I have heard that they are good, though.

There is a farmer's market in the next town over from me, but I have never been there. Shame on me, I know I need to go support them and enjoy some fresh veggies.

Traders Villiage (In Arlington..off 360) has some pretty good fruits and veggies.

sometimes at our farmer's market (wednesdays and saturdays), they have a guy making fresh corn meal. It takes this enormous noisy machine that they jam corn into and it pounds it into dust and, pow, corn meal.

also a great place for jams and jellies.

I have a farmer's market that is very close to me and I visit it often. The stuff is more expensive there, but I just go for convenience.
