Mama, thank God there was no cancer found. She is home from the hospital

however, she was diagnosed with sarcoidosis. It is the disease that Bernie Mac died from a few months ago but I have no idea how advanced it was with him, etc. I had never heard of the disease until now.

She has fiberous tumors in the respiratory area and in the lungs. They treat it with steroids and other but the steroids can create a problem with diabetic patients in causing the blood sugar to elevate. We have to be real careful with that. My other daughter is in the health profession and when the surgeon gave us the news of what he found big tears filled her eyes and ran down her cheeks the whole time he was talking to us. That was my indicator that the news was not good. She had been the strong one to this point so I have to look it up and study the disease because both of my children tend to try to protect me as I did my Mom. We have been told that she is to have a heart and brain scan periodically because the tumors develop there many times.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers and support through this ordeal. You are the most wonderful friends a gal could ever have and I love each of you dearly. Please continue to pray for her. Thank you so much. I am sorry it took me this long to get back to you but we stayed at her house until we felt she was ok. They have her on some strong pain medication.
