I'm just the oppostie, Kev. If sweets disappeared from the face of the earth tomorrow I would never miss them. But grains and other carbs; there's no way I could do without.
I could make a whole meal off a baguette, while the steak congealed in its juices. |

Now understand guys- I was totally WITH you on the breads versus sweets thang BEFORE Atkins took over my metabolism and did whatever it did to me. I used to LIVE FOR bread, potatos, pasta and rice... but now? Nope.
I bet 6-month chunks of time go by without my even eating ANY of them- not even a single bite! Weird, huh? I'm not knocking Atkins at all. In fact I would- proll'y will - do it again at some point... just a strange side-effect of the diet that I feel like mentioning. (By the way- in the mall a while ago I got another adpated Rueben idea... In a bakery I saw a huge, dinner-plate-sized round beautiful loaf o' marble rye, and I thought a-ha! THAT could be used for a lovely muffullata-style stuffed Rueben sandwich filled w/ shaved corned beef or pastrami, grilled kraut, gooey melted swiss cheese and 1000-Island!) |
