Sesame-Cheese Bread

B

ButterSticks

Guest
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
8 tablespoons butter, divided
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
2 1/2 cups flour, divided
2 packages active dry yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg

Mix the cheese, 4 tablespoons of the butter, the garlic powder & the Italian seasoning in a small bowl and set aside.

Butter an 8-cup tube or bundt pan and sprinkle with the sesame seeds.

Heat the milk, water and the other 4 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over low heat until very warm (abt 120-130 degrees).

Combine 1 1/2 cups of flour, the yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl and then pour in the warm milk mixture.

Add the egg and beat for 3 minutes at medium spead. Stir in the remaining cup of flour by hand to make a stiff, sticky dough.

Spoon half the dough into the prepared pan, spreading it around fairly evenly.

Crumble the cheese mixture over the top, then cover with the rest of the dough. Cover with waxed paper and let rise in a warm sport until doubled, about 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake the bread for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove it from the pan to a wire rack to cool.
