This tip is not exactly for cooking but rather for ripening fruits when you end up buying them before they are actually ripe. Most fruits like mangoes can be ripened by placing them in the rice can overnight. In fact, for papaya if it is not ripe yet, you could just wrap it in newspaper for a day & there you are.

While preparing paneer(cottage cheese), do not dispose of the whey as it can be used for making soft chapatis instead of water. Refrigerate this whey and it can be used for preparing chapatis the next time. Hope this helps, Thanks!

thanks for this thread and the nice tip. I don't have too many to share but I have heard that vinegar is useful in getting rid of microwave odors.
May be you can try out some time.

I got the old coffee pot cleaner tip

coffe pot conatiner part
toss in salt, ice cubes, dash of lemon and swish/swirl and coffee pot clean

for the brewing part I have alway tossed a table spoon on white viniger with some distilled water and ran it threw a couple of times to clean the internal working of my coffee maker

Today's tip: To remove a set jelly easily, dip the mould in hot water, shake the mould slightly so that the jelly gets detached from the mould and unmould on a serving plate.

My tip of the day: Do not salt water until the water boils. This is because salted water has a higher boiling point, so adding it in the beginning will make the process of boiling longer

I don't think this is a tip but I'll post it anyway.

Butter absorbs odor easily. Make sure that you cover it or store it properly so that it won't absorb bad odors.

Today's tip: To make perfect carrot juliennes, start with washed and cleaned baby carrots then cut them into thin strips. It is way easier!
