The Ramen phenomenon

Seeing how the founder and creator of Ramen noodle passed away. I reflected back on all my Ramen experiences and remembered that we had in our family cook book a Ramen Salad that my mom would make

2 Tbsp toasted sesame seed
1/2cup chopped onions
2 Tbsp toasted slivered almonds
½ head cabbage, thinly sliced
½ pkg. Top Ramen noodles, uncooked, crunched up
Dressing:
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. salad oil
3 Tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
seasoning pkg. from Top Ramen

And a couple of times I have tossed in a can of the slivered water chestnuts

toss in the fridge and served chilled
 
Yummy!

I only buy ramen from restaurants or the ready to eat ones. I really love it! I'll try your recipe. I'll impress my brother.
