Yummy Mashed Potato?

My family loves mashed potato and we always make one. However, it's not that great.

Can someone please share a delicious mashed potato recipe?

5 medium baking potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup garlic seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat the oven to 400* F. Place the potatoes into a saucepan, and fill with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes, just until soft. Drain water, and mash potatoes. Beat in the butter, and about half of the milk using an electric mixer. Add more milk if needed to achieve the desired consistency of mashed potato. Season with salt and pepper. Spread potatoes evenly in a 9x13 inch baking dish, or desired casserole dish. Sprinkle the bread crumbs and cheese over the top.
Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cheese is melted and the top is browned. Serve immediately.

1-1/2 lb. potatoes (about 4 medium potatoes), unpeeled, quartered
1/2 cup salad dressing (Miracle Whip)
4 slices Bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese

Cover potatoes with water in large saucepan. Bring to boil; reduce heat to medium. Cook 20 minutes or until tender. Drain. Mash potatoes. Add dressing, bacon, garlic powder, salt and pepper; beat until fluffy. Stir in cheese.

1 1/4 pounds white boiling potatoes peeled and sliced
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup warm buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons unsalted butter
greshly ground black pepper

Place the potatoes and salt in a medium saucepan and add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer until the potatoes are pierced easily with a fork, about 10 minutes. Drain, reserving a few tablespoons of the cooking liquid. Place the potatoes in a large bowl and partially mash. Add the warm buttermilk and baking soda, mix well and mash completely. Stir in the butter and pepper and adjust the seasoning as needed. If you like your mashed potatoes creamy, add the reserved cooking liquid. Serve immediately.

6 potatoes (about 2 1/2 lbs.)
Small package (4 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon garlic salt
Pepper
Additional butter and paprika

Peel and boil potatoes until tender. Drain and mash.
Add cream cheese, sour cream, and seasonings. Beat until fluffy and smooth.
Place mixture in a casserole dish. Dot the top with butter, and sprinkle with paprika.
Cover and heat at 350 degrees F. until heated through.

3 lb. Potatoes, peeled
1 t. salt
½ c. milk
1/3 c. chopped green onion
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese
¼ c. butter
½ c. sour cream
2 eggs, beaten

Preheat oven to 350* F. Grease a 2-qt. casserole. Bring potatoes and salt to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered until tender; drain. Add milk; beat until smooth. Add onions. Beat cream cheese, butter and sour cream until creamy. Add eggs; beat until well blended. Fold into potatoes. Spoon into casserole and bake 45 minutes or until golden and knife inserted in center comes out clean.

Thanks for all the recipes Mama Mangia!

I'll try adding cheese (or cream cheese), bread crumbs and sour cream. I have never tried adding these ingredients.

I usually add cream cheese or sour cream to my potatoes and they're always a big hit. I also leave the skins on and add a little basil.

I love lots of cheddar cheese in my mashed potatoes. Sour cream is good too! I know it's bad for you... but I also love to use LOTS of butter in mine.

I usually use plenty of garlic in mine. Sometimes I use sour cream and bacon bits and cheese and make it like a baked potato only mashed already.

With my mash potatoes I boil about 3-4 I have small family, then mash them with the masher thing. Add butter , salt and pepper to make cream add a bit of milk.
