sourdough starter

My grandmother knew how to make the bread but not the starter. She use to take care of it and produced really good bread. I use to do it myself. I need to start again and try the different kinds.

I prefer the kind that you can make bread from the starter and not from yeast. The yeast is in the starter right?

If you Google it it is the first thing that comes up. I think it was IO dot com.
I Googled "sourdough starter"
I wish I could post you a link but with this forum I can't.Not with the posts I got thus far.

look for Carls 1849 Oregon trail starter. Cost is free when you send a SASE to them. You will get a dried starter which you can go online to find out how to reanimate the starter. It is awesome. Basically, I reanimate by mixing by weight 8 oz of bread flour with 8 oz of reverse osmosis water - no chlorine. then you are ready to go!

Send me a message if you need some assistance.
