Cider Apple Pie

Ingredients:

1 unbaked pie shell and extra strips of dough for lattice on top
6 medium tart apples
1/2 C sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
Cider to cover apples
Flour


Directions:

Peel, core and slice applies into medium saucepan and cover with cider. Cook apples slowly for about 30 minutes, until soft. Remove from heat and add flour as needed to thicken. Add sugar and spices. Pour into the pie shell which has been baked for about 5 minutes. Cover filling with lattice made with extra strips of dough and brush lattice with egg wash. Bake for about 8 minutes in hot oven (450 degrees) then reduce heat to 350 degrees and contiue baking for 25 minutes until golden brown on top. A delicious pie! :)
