Default Just got a fluidless charcoal lighter

I've always been a lighter fluid person. I came across a metal charcoal lighter the other day, so I thought I'd try it. It's like a little chimney with a grate that hold the charcoal, and a place to put a couple pieces of wadded up newspaper below. I'm trying it out at the moment. The newspaper doesn't really burn like a fire, but smolders and smokes. So far so good. I may become a believer in these charcoal lighters.

Wow! I'm impressed with the charcoal lighter so much that I'm going to get another of the lighters to take camping. In between the last post and this one the charcoal was glowing. I'd guess total time was 10 minutes to light, and no petroleum was involved. Sweet!

My grandfather uses one of those chimney charcoal lighters and swears by it. It does seem to light fast for him, and he makes some nice steaks on the Weber grill he has.

My favorite steak is the Porterhouse since it has the nice piece of tenderloin that the T-Bone steak is missing. If I was offered one, I wouldn't turn down a T-Bone steak, it's my second favorite.

I've always used charcoal lighter to light my grill but if I can avoid the petroleum these days that's so much the better.

Those are really cool items. I think they ought to be sold together with charcoal grills!

What's the good of grilling if you don't get to spray that lighter fluid? I love it, and sometimes I spray it onto recreational fires I start, just for fun.
