Default CCCathy's version of Meatloaf

1 + lbs of hamburger meat
1 egg
1/4 c. oatmeal
1/4 c. breadcrumbs
1/8 c. milk
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
2 tbsp. ketchup
splash each of soy sauce & worstershire
1/8 cup (each) of chopped onion & bellpepper
2 tsp. dried parsley
salt & pepper to taste
generous dash of Lawry's seasoned salt

Mix all ing. in a deep bowl until well blended. Place into a bread pan & bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. 15 min.'s before pulling out of oven mix together several tbsp. of ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar mix well and coat top of meatloaf with it, continue to cook for last 15 min's. The glaze will be nice and bubbly. Remove from bread pan to serving platter, let cool a few min's and slice & serve.

Just shows to go you, Cathy. I thought I was the only person in the south who used oatmeal as a meatloaf filler.

In fact, our recipes are surprisingly similar.

Definitely neat. I have to write up my updated Meatloaf recipe soon. This dish changes from year to year with me. I was surprised to see no sugar in your recipe. I use brown sugar in the topping.. Well, more to come on that later..
