Note cut all vegetables slightly smaller than bite size.
Filling:
2 Lbs Lean Hamburger, uncooked
10 C Chopped potatoes (1 potato per pasty)
1 C Chopped carrots (1/2 carrot per pasty)
1 Large Onion, chopped
1 Small rutabaga or turnip, chopped
1 1/2 Tbl Salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Mix all filling ingredients together and set aside.

Crust

3 C All purpose flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 C shortening
1/2 C butter or margarine, softened
1/2 C warm water
1 egg
Mix all crust ingredients together like making a pie crust. roll Crust out fairly thin. Cut into 10 rectangles. Place about a handful of filling on crust. Fold edges over, overlapping.l Pinch edges together to seal. Place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 350F about one hour, until crust is golden and vegetables are tender.
Serve hot with butter, salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce.

Looks real good - add Guinness for a special
treat.

It's very similar to a tourtiere and something
I want to make soon. Can't do it for Christmas
Eve as we're invited out for lasagna.
