CHEESE AND SAUSAGE BREAKFAST CASSEROLE

I made this for Mother's Day and my friend's brunch bridal shower. It is easy to make and very yummy!

8 white bread slices, cut into cubes (I use this rosemary olive oil bread from a local grocery store. You could try sourdhough, French bread, whatever-something other than white really make a difference!)
1 pound bulk pork sausage, crumbled and cooked (I have used savory sage and spicy sausage for this recipe and both ways turned out excellent!)
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar (or cheese blend like jack and cheddar, etc)
10 large eggs
2 cups milk (do not use lowfat or nonfat)
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
Pepper
Dash of Worcester sauce
Dash of hot sauce

Grease 9x13-inch glass baking dish. Place bread in prepared dish. Top with sausage and cheese. Beat together eggs and next five ingredients. Season with pepper. Pour over sausage mixture. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Chill.)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake casserole until puffed and center is set, about 50 minutes. Cut into squares.

Serves 8 to 10.
